Preschools
Participation in VisioCheck is a demonstration of a preschool’s commitment to kindergarten readiness and the overall well-being of its students.
Initially started in 2010 as our W.H.E.E.L.S. Kindergarten Readiness Program, VisioCheck in preschools is specifically intended to make sure that children start their school careers ready to learn, with healthy vision being a key component of school readiness. Following the completion of the introductory five-year period, W.H.E.E.L.S. has been absorbed into VisioCheck.
Participation in VisioCheck is a demonstration of a preschool’s commitment to kindergarten readiness and the overall well-being of its students. Fewer than 20% of children have an eye exam before starting school, and children with uncorrected visual acuity of less than 20/20 are three times more likely to fail a grade in school. VisioCheck helps protect educational success by working to eliminate undetected and untreated vision problems.
