A large percentage of the students that Conexus serves are Latino. So this year, for Gift of Light, ABC 8News – WRIC shared how important Conexus programs can be in these communities.
“In our Latino countries, because of resources, because of financial support, we don’t have a way to pay for vision information,” Juan Santacoloma, a multicultural outreach specialist with Chesterfield County Public Schools said. “We don’t have a way to pay for glasses or lenses, so many of these families don’t have an idea about these Conexus services.”
